- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪I really do like Dr. Hirshorn and her nurse Myranda, but that is far as it goes. Their phone system is terrible and needs some immediate revisions, if it wasn't for Dr. Hirshorn, I might would be tempted to move to another practice. - ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪From the beginning, there have been issues with LFM over time -- waiting is generally far too long whether in the waiting room, practice room, lab... All of this facility's time issues could be helped by the addition of phone lines, staff, and diligent record keeping or a better computer program to run the office. That being said -- I Have found my Doctors, and their Nurses to be extremely competent, kind and empathetic, they can only work with what they have. They are constantly pressed for time, yet I have never once been rushed by my Doctor (K. Hirshorn) or been too hurried to ask ANY and ALL questions I have. Also, my experience in taking my roommate in to see her Doctor (K. Beeler) have been greatly delayed, but always score high on a scale of attentiveness, concern and kindness. Backups happen in the Lab on an almost constant basis, but the staff there (again) can only work with what they have. I have had to work hard, and be persistent to get results, paperwork, and out-of-office issues, but that is my norm no matter where I go. Now, after a bit of time, the Nurse and I are on a first-name basis. Perhaps LFM has grown too big for their current staff to handle, and need to either expand or relocate to accommodate the needs of every one of their patients. But, when I was trying to locate a Doctor that accepted my insurance, was close-by and I knew would be there long-term for me, I was very glad indeed to find them. A good motto for LFM is this "Laurens Family Medicine, where Patients Are Patient"!! :)December 24, 2016by Kerry McQuillan
